This is it. Malaysians who are in the high income bracket will no longer enjoy subsidised fuel next year. Firstly my personal point, i do not know how to react to this matter; to feel happy or further feeling aggravate to this idea. It was announced by the Gov, only Malaysians earning below RM10,000 monthly will get fuel subsidies from next year, while those earning below RM5,000 monthly will get FULL subsidies.
For the middle class, some will still enjoy the subsidised rate,” the minister said, adding that it did not make sense for those driving luxury cars to enjoy 75 litres of subsidised petrol for each refill, versus 7.5 litres for the low-income group. He meant to draw comparison between the tank size of a big SUV/luxury sedan with a motorcycle, but did not elaborate what constitutes high-income, low-income or middle class – Paultan.org
How I wish i haven’t said that “mungkin”).
One-stop data collection centre for subsidised fuel
To no avail, the intention to distribute the fuel subsidy based on salary is either much in question or it is too vague to understand. Even data compiled for the purpose of distributing BRIM is highly overrated. Much to do with targeting the right allocation of subsidy to the right individuals by setting the salary cap. urgh… Hence can it be questioned, by setting the right niche of monthly income, how to know whether one is entitled for the rationed subsidised petrol / diesel? Tengok data dari BRIM la, serampang dua mata. Heee…
My Kad is my card
What mentioned during the initial plan was, the use of My Kad as a mode to direct the subsidies to the section of rakyat. Plus by identifying the right individual for the sudsidised petrol , is it deemed suffice? That being said, with the widespread smuggling of the petrol beyond the state boundaries, with the foreigners fueling up subsidised petrol into their vehicle , all these will require proper monitoring and surveillance. Answer this, how the use of My Kad could curb the mentioned situation?…*Krik krik krik krik*…… Now answer this too, how to ensure that the chip in My Kad is accesible via the system? Apalagi? Pastikan kad tu yang terkinilah. And now, it involves JPN as well. Duhh… One more question, how good is our monitoring and surveillance system against smuggling? Itu kerja penguatkuasa.
Other than that, say the system to channel the subsidised petrol is up and running during the trial/test run period, how certain that the system is abused-proof? Obviously in this duration, the system requires tweaking and stuff. And since it involves the data and income information of the people, how safe is the system? And we are not talking about the equipment being used, rather the human aka staffs who handle the equipment and the data & information in the system. Takut seyh…
How often will the system update one’s income and what happen if someone gets an increment and still enjoy the subsidy under the old income? This is much anticipated if you ask me (don’t ask lah). How truthful when one wants to declare the income? Unless if one works in an organization that links to the Inland Revenue Board (LHDN) memanglah telus, in other words, those who pay their income taxes every year are in the system already. And they, LHDN, can vouch for that. 😛
Q, Q, Q…
Not to mention the probable hullabaloo row when the system starts. Is the system is as fast and swift when the customers check their “availability” of the subsidised fuel? Not that I want to denounce the mechanism, but most of us realized the stifling bandwidth especially during peak hours and in this case, during the opening period. Let alone the Internet connection in Malaysia has its limit controlled by the frigging capitalist. Ergo, speed is the issue. Kalau speed pun takde speed, undeniably we will see the traffic come to a standstill at the petrol kiosk or at least that is the worst-case-scenario thingy. Kan kan kan?
So, what we can say is that, this mechanism requires support from all sides. When I say all sides, it requires state of the art system, strong bandwidth, trained manpower, updated customers information, monitoring system, yada yada yada, and not to mentioned the customers themselves; just to make this a good solid mechanism.
And to date, i do not know in which income bracket i fall into. Nah!! Malas nak pening – pening kepala, just watch the new Samurai X movie clip lah.
